However, the organization may require customizing a portal to accommodate their business needs. One common business need is whether the portal should have the ability to register a new user or not.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When we install the Portal add-on, by default, the registration process is enabled. The users will see the <strong><em>\u2018Registration\u2019<\/em><\/strong> page when they click on <strong><em>\u2018Sign-In\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>as seen in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Remove-New-Registration-process-completely-from-Microsoft-CRM-Portal1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6099 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Remove-New-Registration-process-completely-from-Microsoft-CRM-Portal1.jpg\" alt=\"Remove New Registration process completely from Microsoft CRM Portal\" width=\"754\" height=\"296\" \/><\/a>This page allows a new user to register on the portal, and in the background, this will create a new\u00a0<strong><em>Contact<\/em><\/strong> record in Dynamics CRM. However, some organizations might not require this functionality.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Steps to completely remove the Registration Process from Microsoft CRM Portal:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>1.\u00a0<\/strong>To eliminate the registration process, we can use <strong><em>\u2018Authentication\/Registration\/Enabled\u2019<\/em><\/strong> site setting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>2.\u00a0<\/strong>First, we have to create a <strong><em>Site Setting<\/em><\/strong> entity record with Name <strong><em>\u2018Authentication\/Registration\/Enabled\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and set the value to <strong><em>false<\/em><\/strong>. This setting will completely remove the Registration process from the Portal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Remove-New-Registration-process-completely-from-Microsoft-CRM-Portal2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6100 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Remove-New-Registration-process-completely-from-Microsoft-CRM-Portal2.jpg\" alt=\"Remove New Registration process completely from Microsoft CRM Portal\" width=\"772\" height=\"222\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>3.\u00a0<\/strong>As seen in the above screenshot, the <strong><em>Register<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Redeem Invitation<\/em><\/strong> tab has disappeared. This setting will not allow users to browse the Register Page URL and the\u00a0<strong><em>https:\/\/&lt;portalurl&gt;\/Account\/Login\/Register<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0URL will not be accessible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>4. <\/strong>Even the\u00a0<strong><em>Redeem Invitation\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>page with URL\u00a0<strong><em>https:\/\/&lt;portalurl&gt;\/Register\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>will be inaccessible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>5.\u00a0<\/strong>However, this URL is required to redeem the invitations so that user gets the access to the portal and might be a problem for some organizations. There might be a requirement where they just want to remove new registration, but they want the\u00a0<strong><em>Redeem Invitation\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>page.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">In that case, we would need to perform two steps as follows;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">a. Set <strong><em>\u2018Authentication\/Registration\/Enabled\u2019<\/em><\/strong> site setting to <strong><em>true<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">b. Create a new <strong><em>Site Setting<\/em><\/strong> entity record with Name <strong><em>\u2018Authentication\/Registration\/OpenRegistrationEnabled<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 and set Value to <strong><em>false<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>6.\u00a0<\/strong>With this setting, we will see the changes in the <strong><em>\u2018Sign-In\u2019<\/em><\/strong> page as seen in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Remove-New-Registration-process-completely-from-Microsoft-CRM-Portal3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6101 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Remove-New-Registration-process-completely-from-Microsoft-CRM-Portal3.jpg\" alt=\"Remove New Registration process completely from Microsoft CRM Portal\" width=\"769\" height=\"174\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>7.\u00a0<\/strong>As seen from the above screenshot, only the <strong><em>Register<\/em><\/strong> tab has disappeared but we can still access the <em><strong>Redeem Invitation<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>To completely remove the registration process from the Portal, we can use the <strong><em>\u2018Authentication\/Registration\/Enabled\u2019<\/em><\/strong> site setting.
