{"id":5678,"date":"2017-05-25T19:35:42","date_gmt":"2017-05-25T14:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/?p=5678"},"modified":"2020-07-07T07:42:34","modified_gmt":"2020-07-07T07:42:34","slug":"enable-multiple-languages-on-microsoft-dynamics-365-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/enable-multiple-languages-on-microsoft-dynamics-365-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Introduction:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Microsoft Portals can be used to surface data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement for an external audience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Microsoft Portal provide various pre-configured templates for Customer Portal, Partner Portal, and Employee portal amongst others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently the portals were extended to provide Multi-language support, and here we cover the steps to enable multiple languages for the portal.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Steps to enable multiple languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>1.<\/strong> You first need to ensure the language has been enabled for your CRM application. To enable a language, go to the <strong><em>Setting&gt;Administration&gt;Languages<\/em><\/strong>, select the language and click on <strong><em>\u2018Apply\u2019<\/em><\/strong> as shown in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5668 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-1.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"698\" height=\"280\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>2.<\/strong> Next, we will enable the languages for the Portal. Navigate to <strong><em>Portals&gt;Website&gt;Websites<\/em><\/strong>. Under the General tab, in the <strong><em>\u2018Supported Languages\u2019<\/em><\/strong> section, click the <strong>\u2018+\u2019<\/strong> button as shown in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5669 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-2.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"694\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>3.<\/strong> Fill the fields as shown in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5670 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-3.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"721\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Portal Language:<\/strong> Select the language that you want to include support for.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Note: Currently 43 languages are supported out of the box. To know more about languages supported in Dynamics 365, go to Portals&gt;Content&gt;Portal Languages.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Make sure the Publishing state is<strong> \u201cPublished\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>4.<\/strong> You can see the list of <strong><em>\u2018Supported Language\u2019<\/em><\/strong> for the Website as shown in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5671 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-4.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"725\" height=\"403\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>5.<\/strong> With the language support added, you will notice that it has automatically created Web Link Sets for the navigation records for each of the enabled languages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5672 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-5.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"717\" height=\"272\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\">Open each of the Link Sets and update the text as required for the specified language.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5673 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-6.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"682\" height=\"283\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>6.<\/strong> Next is to update the content of the pages for this navigate to <strong><em>Portals&gt;Web Pages<\/em><\/strong>. Here for each web page, there will be a Parent Page. Create localization for each language activated for the portal (Currently we have enabled the English and French language for the portal).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\">To add a new localization on the page for activated language, open the page and scroll down to <strong><em>\u2018Localized Content\u2019<\/em><\/strong>. Click on the <strong>\u2018+\u2019<\/strong> button on the right side as shown in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-7.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5674 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-7.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"683\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">You need to modify the content for the specified language manually as shown below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-8.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Enable-Multiple-Languages-on-Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Portal-8.jpg\" alt=\"Enable Multiple Languages on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal\" width=\"708\" height=\"317\" \/><\/a><strong>7.<\/strong> With these changes, your portal is now multi-language compatible.
