Earlier Duplicate detection could be scheduled as a job or it would auto-popup when creating\/updating records based on the duplicate detection rules that have been defined.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With Dynamics 365, we now have a way to find duplicates with a single click for the selected record. Now in Dynamics 365, there is a \u2018Detect Duplicates\u2019 ribbon button available that is visible when you select a single or multiple records.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2018Detect Duplicates\u2019 ribbon button has two options:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">For Selected Records<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">For All Records on All Pages.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4586\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Detect-Duplicates-Ribbon-Button-in-Dynamics-365.jpg\" alt=\"Detect Duplicates Ribbon Button in Dynamics 365\" width=\"778\" height=\"252\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Note:<\/strong> \u2018Detect Duplicates\u2019 button will only be visible when the duplicate detection rule which has status reason as \u2018Published\u2019 for the entity is available. This button won\u2019t be visible if you unpublished the duplicate detection rule for the entity.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Let us understand this functionality with an example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. Suppose we have multiple lead records having the same \u2018Mobile Phone\u2019 number, \u20188527419633\u2019, as seen in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4580\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/1Detect-Duplicates-Ribbon-Button-in-Dynamics-365.jpg\" alt=\"Detect Duplicates Ribbon Button in Dynamics 365\" width=\"749\" height=\"163\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">2. Navigate to Settings -&gt; Data Management -&gt; Duplicate Detection Rules and create a rule for detecting Leads with the same \u2018Mobile Phone\u2019 number.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4581\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/2Detect-Duplicates-Ribbon-Button-in-Dynamics-365.jpg\" alt=\"Detect Duplicates Ribbon Button in Dynamics 365\" width=\"597\" height=\"160\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. Navigate to \u2018Lead\u2019 entity, click on any one of the lead record and the on-demand \u2018Detect Duplicates\u2019 ribbon button will now be visible as seen in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4582\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/3Detect-Duplicates-Ribbon-Button-in-Dynamics-365.jpg\" alt=\"Detect Duplicates Ribbon Button in Dynamics 365\" width=\"602\" height=\"191\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">In this example, lead \u2018nicole dsouza\u2019 is selected and we have clicked on the \u2018Detect Duplicates\u2019 button -&gt; \u2018For Selected Records\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">4. After clicking on the button, \u2018Check for Duplicates\u2019 window will open up. You can now give the name of the System Job where you can check the status. You have the option to mention the Start Time. You can also mention after how many days you want to run this System Job.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4583\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/4Detect-Duplicates-Ribbon-Button-in-Dynamics-365.jpg\" alt=\"Detect Duplicates Ribbon Button in Dynamics 365\" width=\"523\" height=\"529\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">In addition, there is an \u2018Email options\u2019 available where you can provide the Email ID to get a notification once the job is completed. After filling all the required fields, click on \u201cOK\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">5. Now navigate to Settings -&gt; Data Management -&gt; Duplicate Detection Jobs. You can see the System Job \u2018Status Reason\u2019 is changed to \u2018Succeeded\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4584\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/5Detect-Duplicates-Ribbon-Button-in-Dynamics-365.jpg\" alt=\"Detect Duplicates Ribbon Button in Dynamics 365\" width=\"611\" height=\"170\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">6. Open the system job.
