In this blog, we are going to talk about using Pen Control to add a signature in mobile and tablets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Consider a scenario where we need to allow signing directly in CRM mobiles and tablets apps and store the signatures accepted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Steps to create control to accept signature\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In such scenario, we can add the Pen control using \u201cMultiple lines of text\u201d field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Create a new field of type \u201cMultiple lines of text\u201d and set \u201cMaximum length\u201d of this fields as at least 15000.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4253\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Signatures-on-Mobiles-and-Tablets.png\" alt=\"Signatures on Mobiles and Tablets\" width=\"666\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0Add the Customer Signature field on entity form and click on change Properties.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4247\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Add-the-Customer-Signature-field-on-entity-form-2.png\" alt=\"Add the Customer Signature field on entity form 2\" width=\"666\" height=\"374\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Select Controls tab and then click on add control option:<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4252\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Select-Controls-tab-3.png\" alt=\"Select Controls tab\" width=\"354\" height=\"413\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Then Select Pen control option:<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/pen-control-4.png\" alt=\"pen control\" width=\"500\" height=\"462\" \/>Click on Add button.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4246\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Add-the-Customer-Signature-field-5.png\" alt=\"Add the Customer Signature field \" width=\"494\" height=\"370\" \/>Select Phone and Tablet and then click OK<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4251\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Phone-and-Tablet-6.png\" alt=\"Phone and Tablet\" width=\"327\" height=\"354\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now, the pen control is added to the CRM form for mobiles and Tablets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This Pen control allows you to draw a signature using the touch screen of mobiles and tablets as shown below.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4248\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/draw-signature-7-1024x610.png\" alt=\"draw signature\" width=\"665\" height=\"396\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: You can clear and save this while drawing first time only. Once saved it does not allow us to clear this field from CRM App on mobiles and CRM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This field stores the signature as an image in base64 format. You can see this data in base64 format if you check this multiple lines of text field in CRM on the browser.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4249\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/in-base64-format-8.png\" alt=\"in base64 format\" width=\"745\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Using the Pen control for Mobiles and tablets, we can now easily accept signatures and drawings and store them in CRM for later consumption.
