As, it&#8217;s almost impossible for humans to know and predict the future result, even after making a lot of efforts to convert most of the opportunities into successful Sales. So, now with the help of these advanced AI technologies, sales can help us forecast sales more actively and accurately. As forecasting implies the ability to predict the sales pattern of an organization.<\/p>\n<p>In this advanced modern world, people are more attracted to getting quick and accurate solutions without involving much manual intervention. Predictive Forecasting basically will allow salespeople to see the predictive analysis for all their sales efforts, which are actually driven by AI.<\/p>\n<p>Refer to the below screenshot for reference:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32567\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1Predictive-Forecasting.jpeg\" alt=\"Predictive Forecasting\" width=\"1416\" height=\"771\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1Predictive-Forecasting.jpeg 1416w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1Predictive-Forecasting-300x163.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1Predictive-Forecasting-1024x558.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1Predictive-Forecasting-768x418.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1Predictive-Forecasting-660x359.jpeg 660w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1416px) 100vw, 1416px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft has specified some mandatory prerequisites to keep in mind before using Predictive Forecasting in order to get proper and accurate forecasting predictions.<\/p>\n<p>You can find more details in this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/sales\/configure-premium-forecasting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">doc<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre-requisite:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>System should have a minimum of <strong>200<\/strong> opportunity records.<\/li>\n<li>More than <strong>10<\/strong> closed opportunities with values populated for the fields\u2013<strong>Actual Value,\u00a0Actual Close Date,\u00a0Estimated Value, and\u00a0Estimated Close Date.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Open opportunities with values filled for the fields\u2013<strong>Estimated Value<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Estimated Close Date<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Date fields should be real for all the scenarios, for ex: <strong>Opportunity Create Date should not be lesser than Opportunity Close Date<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Forecast Category must be in sync with opportunity status. For example: When the Opportunity is Won\/Close, then the Forecast category field will also be populated as Won\/Close respectively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Configuration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To verify whether the predictive forecasting feature is enabled in your organization, make sure you go to\u00a0<strong>App settings<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<strong>Forecast configuration<\/strong><strong> &gt;Go to Layout Step&gt; Add the Prediction column in the forecast grid<\/strong>, and <strong>Activate<\/strong> the Forecast.<\/p>\n<p>Then, after the\u00a0<strong>Prediction<\/strong>\u00a0column appears in a forecast grid when you select it as a column.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the <strong>Advanced <\/strong>step, make sure that the \u201cEnable prediction factors\u201d toggle is on. As shown below:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32566\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2Predictive-Forecasting.jpeg\" alt=\"Predictive Forecasting\" width=\"1088\" height=\"463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2Predictive-Forecasting.jpeg 1088w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2Predictive-Forecasting-300x128.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2Predictive-Forecasting-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2Predictive-Forecasting-768x327.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2Predictive-Forecasting-660x281.jpeg 660w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1088px) 100vw, 1088px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post enabling this toggle, User will be able to see the\u00a0<strong>Prediction<\/strong> <strong>Details<\/strong> starting to appear in a forecast grid and vice versa.<\/li>\n<li>After activating the forecast for the first time, Predictive Forecasting will take about <strong>two hours<\/strong> to display data in the <strong>Prediction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prediction details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prediction details graph consists of 2 parts:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Breakdown of total prediction factors<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong> Top factors that influence the prediction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Let us see each one in detail as below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Breakdown of total prediction factors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To see the predictive forecasting details (like factors that are influencing it) of each forecast record you need to select the respective value in the prediction column of the Forecast as shown below:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The below screenshot shows predicted data, which consists of 4 major Points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Closed as Won<\/strong>&#8211; It will show the total value of all closed opportunities in the forecast time period.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Predicted from Open<\/strong>&#8211; It will show the total value of existing opportunities, in that forecast time period that is predicted to close.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Predicted from New<\/strong>&#8211; It will show the total value of new Opportunities, in that forecast time period, that is predicated to close.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Total Prediction-<\/strong> It will show the sum of all breakdown values of (Closed as Won+ Predicted from Open+ Predicted from New).
