In the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 2022 release wave 2, the \u201cPrevent slow keyword filter or quick find terms on view pages<\/strong>\u201d feature has been introduced that allows or restricts the user while searching for the table records using slow keywords filters in the grid view.<\/p>\n

Let’s explore!<\/p>\n

When a Dataverse search is enabled, invalid queries like the searches that begin with an asterisk are blocked. To enable the same, users can turn on the \u201cPrevent slow keyword filter or quick find terms on view pages<\/strong>\u201d setting in the Features<\/strong> by navigating to the Power Platform Admin Center<\/strong> i.e. https:\/\/admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com\/<\/a> as shown below:<\/p>\n

Environment -> Settings -> Features<\/strong><\/p>\n

As highlighted in the below screen clip when Dataverse search is off the \u201cPrevent slow keyword filter or quick find terms on view pages\u201d feature is disabled for the users.<\/p>\n

To access this newly added feature in Microsoft D365, the user is required to enable the Dataverse search. For reference find the below screen clips,<\/p>\n

When the Dataverse search is enabled and \u201cPrevent slow keyword filter or quick find terms on view pages<\/strong>\u201d is set to Off, the user will be able to search the records from the grid using invalid queries such as searches that begin with an asterisk and it will provide a warning message as \u201cfor faster results, don\u2019t start with*<\/strong>\u201d and still be able to continue the search. When the Dataverse search is enabled and \u201cPrevent slow keyword filter or quick find terms on view pages\u201d is set to On, the user will not be allowed to search the records from the grid using invalid queries such as searches that begin with an asterisk as it will block the search and provide a warning message as \u201cfor faster results, don\u2019t start with*\u201d.<\/strong> Also, the search icon from the grid search gets hidden. For reference find the below screen clips,<\/p>\n

Although, the Dataverse search is enabled the user can turn on or off this \u201cPrevent slow keyword filter or quick find terms on view pages<\/strong>\u201d feature anytime from environment settings in Power Platform Admin Center that helps the user to easily filter the views as per requirement.<\/p>\n
