{"id":30729,"date":"2022-02-22T16:22:41","date_gmt":"2022-02-22T10:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/?p=30729"},"modified":"2022-02-24T16:30:03","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T11:00:03","slug":"enhancements-in-sales-accelerator-using-segments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2022\/02\/enhancements-in-sales-accelerator-using-segments\/","title":{"rendered":"Enhancements in Sales Accelerator using Segments"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Introduction:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In Dynamics 365 2021 release wave 2, when I was exploring \u201cSales Accelerator\u201d feature, I came across another newly introduced feature \u201cSegments\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Previously, if you activate the \u201cSequence\u201d for the \u201cSales Accelerator\u201d and you want that sequence to work on a particular set of records, then first you have to manually connect the records to sequence as we have already seen in the earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2021\/10\/enhancements-in-sales-accelerator-using-adaptive-sequences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For example, if you have defined the \u201cSequence\u201d for the Opportunity entity and you want that sequence to work for a particular set of opportunity records, then those opportunity records should be manually added first under \u201cConnected opportunities\u201d tab. This means all the above opportunity records are manually connected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this blog, we will focus on the \u201cSegments\u201d feature which allows the facility to automatically connect the records to sequence.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Segments:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Instead of manually connecting records to \u201cSequence\u201d one by one, the \u201cSegments\u201d feature gives you the facility to use an automation mechanism for connecting. I was able to explore more about the \u201cSequences\u201d feature by using this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/sales\/manage-segments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">doc<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can create your own \u201cSegment\u201d which will group the records based on a pre-defined set of queries which is then connected to \u201cSequence\u201d.
