Field Service Setting is the key feature while working with Field Service in Dynamics 365 CRM provided by Microsoft where we can define the default behavior for our organization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this blog, we will look into one of the settings, which will allow us to handle the validations for Customer Asset.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While working with the Field Service, initially Work Order Incidents must have Customer asset, Work Order associated with the same Customer, and there is also restriction while selecting different Customer\u2019s Work Order and Customer Asset, as shown in the below screenshot:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/1-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service.jpeg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26795 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/1-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service.jpeg\" alt=\"Enable\/Disable Customer Asset Validation within Dynamics 365 CRM \" width=\"1018\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/1-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service.jpeg 1018w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/1-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service-300x132.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/1-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service-768x338.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/1-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service-660x290.jpeg 660w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1018px) 100vw, 1018px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we can handle these validations to be applied within our Field Service application by using the \u2018Disable Customer Asset Validation\u2019 setting in Field Service Setting. Please refer to the below screenshot for the same.<\/p>\n<p>This feature will be useful in the scenarios where the business requirement is to sell or change the inspection for existing Customer\u2019 assets to new Customers. For example, we have Customer \u2018Crystal Pvt Ltd\u2019 with 10 Assets and now want to install those assets to Customer \u2018Miniature Creations\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Consider a scenario where we have a requirement to allow Work Order Incident to be created with different Customer on related Work Order and Customer Asset. To achieve this, follow the steps given below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">a. Navigate to Field Service Model Driven app and Field Service Setting within Setting Area and set \u2018Disable Customer Asset Validation\u2019 setting as Yes. Now, create Work Order for \u2018Miniature Creations\u2019 Customer having some of the Incidents within the same. We have a scenario where we need to include the Work Order Incident on Work Order \u201800015\u2019 having Customer as \u2018Miniature Creations\u2019 but Customer Asset \u2018Test Asset \u2013 01\u2019 having Customer \u2018Crystal Pvt Ltd\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/5-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26799 size-full\" shown in the above screenshot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/6-enabledisable-customer-asset-validation-within-field-service-ink.jpeg\" while creating this Work Order Incident and it will restrict the creation of work order incident with different customer\u2019s Customer Asset and Work Order.<\/p>\n<p><a
