{"id":23730,"date":"2020-05-28T06:26:41","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T06:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/?p=23730"},"modified":"2022-07-21T11:40:35","modified_gmt":"2022-07-21T06:10:35","slug":"enhancement-in-lookup-filtering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2020\/05\/enhancement-in-lookup-filtering\/","title":{"rendered":"Enhancement in Lookup Filtering"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Introduction<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of enabling\/disabling configured Related Records Filtering is that users can set lookup value from pre-defined filter criteria or simply uncheck the checkbox and see all records belonging to selected view from lookup.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier, when we wanted to search a record that doesn\u2019t have current Company Name lookup set on it, we used to do it from field properties(customization) for removing the configured related records filtering then only all contact record list displayed in lookup view.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s see how to <strong>enable\/disable configured Related Records Filtering<\/strong> on Lookup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Filter by related: Company Name<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When user enables the Related Records Filtering option then only<strong> \u201cFilter by related: Company Name\u201d <\/strong>checkbox will appear.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the below steps to enable Related Records Filtering checkbox on Lookup.<\/p>\n<p>a. DINA VEDMED &amp; SONS<\/strong> is an Account and <strong>Alex Simmons, Amos Conger, Allison Brown <\/strong>are Active Contacts which have<strong> A. It means you can remove the defined filter from Lookup itself. User can set \u2018Primary Contact\u2019 from \u2018All Contacts\u2019 and save the same but once user refreshes the records, only pre-defined Related Records Filtering will remain.
