{"id":15338,"date":"2019-04-08T12:55:15","date_gmt":"2019-04-08T12:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/?p=15338"},"modified":"2019-04-08T12:55:15","modified_gmt":"2019-04-08T12:55:15","slug":"multiple-sub-grids-appearing-on-marketing-list-form-in-dynamics-365-v9-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2019\/04\/multiple-sub-grids-appearing-on-marketing-list-form-in-dynamics-365-v9-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Working with multiple sub grids appearing on the Marketing List form in Dynamics 365 v9.1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently one of our customers upgraded to Dynamics 365 V9.1 version and encountered a problem with Marketing List entity.<\/p>\n<p>When the customer tried to view the existing Marketing List record, multiple sub grids were displayed on the Marketing List form.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the given steps to replicate the multiple sub grid issue:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create the Marketing List record Or Open the existing Marketing List record<\/li>\n<li>Set one of Targeted At field (Contact\/Account\/Lead), let\u2019s say Contact<\/li>\n<li>Refresh the page<\/li>\n<li>Observe the sub grids on the form<\/li>\n<li>Customer encountered multiple sub grids on form as highlighted below:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15339\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1Quick-tip-for-multiple-sub-grids-appearing-on-the-Marketing-List-form-in-Dynamics-365-v9.1.png\" alt=\"Quick tip for multiple sub grids appearing on the Marketing List form in Dynamics 365 v9.1\" width=\"655\" height=\"546\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With further investigation, it came to our notice that 6 sub grids appeared on Marketing List form. Out of these, two of each belonged to Contacts, Accounts and Leads respectively. Among these 6 sub grids 3 were having \u2018See the records associated with this view\u2019 button which will let you view the associated records in that sub grid. Given below the respective screenshot:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15340\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/2Quick-tip-for-multiple-sub-grids-appearing-on-the-Marketing-List-form-in-Dynamics-365-v9.1.png\" alt=\"Quick tip for multiple sub grids appearing on the Marketing List form in Dynamics 365 v9.1\" width=\"384\" height=\"557\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ideally through OOB, upon creation of Marketing list only one sub grid should appear on the Marketing List form. This sub grid will display records of the selected \u2018Targeted At\u2019 field.<\/p>\n<p>For e.g. In case \u2018Targeted At=Contact\u2019, then only Contact sub grid and its associated records will be displayed in the Marketing List.<\/p>\n<h2>Root cause<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After further investigation, we found that under organizations system setting in general tab \u2018Use legacy form rendering\u2019 option was set to \u2018Yes\u2019 due to which multiple sub grids were appearing on Marketing List form.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Note: \u2018Use legacy form rendering\u2019 is by default set as \u2018NO\u2019 through OOB.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15341\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/3Quick-tip-for-multiple-sub-grids-appearing-on-the-Marketing-List-form-in-Dynamics-365-v9.1.png\" alt=\"Quick tip for multiple sub grids appearing on the Marketing List form in Dynamics 365 v9.1\" width=\"847\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Solution<\/h2>\n<p>To fix the multiple sub grids issue, we simply changed \u2018Use legacy form rendering\u2019 to \u2018No\u2019 and the issue was resolved.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As shown in the below screenshot, only Contact subgrid is displayed when \u2018Target At\u2019 field on Marketing List was populated as Contact.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15342\" style=\"border: 1px solid #0a0a0a; padding: 1px; margin: 1px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/4Quick-tip-for-multiple-sub-grids-appearing-on-the-Marketing-List-form-in-Dynamics-365-v9.1.png\" alt=\"Quick tip for multiple sub grids appearing on the Marketing List form in Dynamics 365 v9.1\" width=\"926\" height=\"491\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For compatibility, if you are going to enable the legacy form rendering engine then keep in mind that the CRM entity performance may be adversely affected. \u00a0The Marketing List form will encounter similar problems as discussed in this blog.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/product\/productivity-pack\/click-2-clone-microsoft-dynamics-crm-records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15285\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Click2Clone-One-Click-Productivity-App-to-Copy_clone-Dynamics-365_CRM-Records.png\" alt=\"Click2Clone-One-Click-Productivity-App-to-Copy_clone-Dynamics-365_CRM-Records\" width=\"824\" height=\"206\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently one of our customers upgraded to Dynamics 365 V9.1 version and encountered a problem with Marketing List entity.
