These are an enhancement to the concept of Contracts that has been in Dynamics CRM since its initial release. You can read more about entitlements from one our earlier blogs found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/entitlements-in-dynamics-crm-2013-spring-release\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You could define the entitlement terms that a customer is entitled to. The entitlements are used against Cases to manage whether a case registered is covered within an entitlement or is billable\/chargeable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Whenever we create a case for the customer and apply the entitlement, the entitlements terms gets decremented from the associated entitlement defined for the customer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However there could be some scenarios where you don\u2019t want the entitlement terms to be decremented. To handle this special case, a new feature of \u201cDecrement Entitlements\u201d is introduced in the latest Dynamics CRM Online Update 1 release.<\/p>\n<h2>Walk-through:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let\u2019s see how we can prevent the entitlement to be decremented terms using \u201c<strong>Do not decrement entitlement terms<\/strong>\u201d option on <strong>Case<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We create the below entitlement \u201c<strong>Mobile Accessories<\/strong>\u201d, with the following specifications,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1418\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements.png\" alt=\"Control_Entitlements\" width=\"630\" height=\"264\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next, create a new case with the origin as \u201cPhone\u201d and apply the available entitlement against this case.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1419\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements1.png\" alt=\"Control_Entitlements1\" width=\"629\" height=\"317\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>By default when this case is resolved, the entitlement terms would decrease by 1 since one entitlement term has been used for this case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But if in special case, you would not like the entitlement terms to be decremented, you can now use the option \u201c<strong>Do not decrement entitlement terms<\/strong>\u201d on the case entity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A new field \u201c<strong>Decrement Entitlement<\/strong> <strong>Terms<\/strong>\u201d is added on the Case entity that indicates the entitlement terms to be decremented or not.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By default the \u201c<strong>Decrement Entitlement<\/strong> <strong>Terms<\/strong>\u201d is set to \u201c<strong>Yes<\/strong>\u201d which will cause to decrement\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 entitlement terms for that case. You need to use the \u201cDo not Decrement Entitlements\u201d menu option added in the ribbon to set this to No.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements2.png\" alt=\"Control_Entitlements2\" width=\"629\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements3.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1421\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements3.png\" alt=\"Control_Entitlements3\" width=\"630\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When you activate the option \u201c<strong>Do not Decrement Entitlement Terms<\/strong>\u201d then the \u201c<strong>Decrement Entitlement Terms<\/strong>\u201d will be set to \u201c<strong>No<\/strong>\u201d. This means the entitlement terms will not get decrement from the entitlement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once it is set to \u201cNo\u201d upon resolving the case, the entitlement terms do not change.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements6.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1426\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements6.png\" alt=\"Control_Entitlements6\" width=\"629\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Security<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since this is a feature that should be utilized only in special scenarios, it has been introduced as a privilege \u201c<strong>Control Decrement Terms\u201d<\/strong> and only users with that privilege would be allowed to set the Decrement Entitlements flag on the Case entity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You will find the new privilege added to the \u201cMiscellaneous Privileges\u201d section of the Service Management tab of the Security role.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements7.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1425\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Control_Entitlements7.png\" alt=\"Control_Entitlements7\" width=\"630\" height=\"289\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>By default, the <strong>Control Decrement Terms<\/strong> privilege is available to only System Administrator and CSR Manager Security Roles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hope it helps!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Need more from your Dynamics CRM?
