{"id":12761,"date":"2018-08-28T18:31:10","date_gmt":"2018-08-28T13:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/?p=12761"},"modified":"2018-08-28T18:31:10","modified_gmt":"2018-08-28T13:01:10","slug":"quickly-open-entity-record-from-power-bi-report-in-dynamics-365-crm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/quickly-open-entity-record-from-power-bi-report-in-dynamics-365-crm\/","title":{"rendered":"Quickly Open Entity record from Power BI report in Dynamics 365 CRM"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Introduction:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Power BI is a data analysis and visualization tool which provides various controls for this such as different types of charts, slicer etc. Using these controls user can analyse and monitor organizations or business growth easily.<\/p>\n<p>However recently we had a business requirement where we were supposed to show the Case records in a table and open them directly in Dynamics CRM from the Power BI report.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Below are the steps to accomplish the same:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>1<\/strong>. At first, we will need the case records required to be shown in the table in Power BI report and for that create a dataset of <strong><em>Case<\/em><\/strong> entity records in Power BI.<\/p>\n<p>Kindly refer to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/2016\/09\/steps-to-integrate-dynamics-crm-online-and-power-bi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">earlier blog<\/a> to understand how to create a Power BI Report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a02<\/strong>. Click on URL of Case which you want to open.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6<\/strong>.
