The latest release now allows users to use the multi-select option set field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this blog, we will see how data import works for multi-select option set field.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Importing data with multi-select Option Set field in Dynamics 365 v9:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Below are the account records that we tried to import in Dynamics 365 v9 environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/12.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10749\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/12.png\" alt=\"Importing data with multi-select Option Set field in Dynamics 365 v9\" width=\"619\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Note: Services is the multi-select option set field of Account entity. This field has following options Home and Financial.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the completion of the import, we got the below warning message, and on submitting these three records, only\u00a0the first record was created in CRM because it is the only record which has the correct values in the right format.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/22.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/22.png\" alt=\"Importing data with multi-select Option Set field in Dynamics 365 v9 error\" width=\"803\" height=\"477\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/31.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10751\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/31.png\" alt=\"Importing data with multi-select Option Set field in Dynamics 365 v9\" width=\"497\" height=\"625\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To import the records with the multi-select option set field value, we would need to pass the option set labels and should be separated by semicolon \u201c;\u201d.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first record was created as two option set values, i.e., Home and Financial had passed by using \u201c;\u201d as the\u00a0separator.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The second record failed because \u2018Financal\u2019 is misspelled and is not the right value of Services option set.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The third record failed because we used \u201c,\u201d as the\u00a0separator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To import records with multi-select option set field, we would need to pass the option set labels with semicolon \u201c;\u201d as the\u00a0separator.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/Click2Clone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10690\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Copy-System-and-Custom-Entities-in-Dynamics-CRM.png\" alt=\"Copy System and Custom Entities in Dynamics CRM\" width=\"800\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction: Prior to Dynamics 365 v9, there was no provision to use multi-select option set field.
