Introduction:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Since the introduction of Voice of the Customer surveys in Dynamics CRM 2016, it has enabled organizations to offer feedback surveys to customers and gain insights about their products and services directly from customers.<\/p>\n

Changing default language of Translations in Voice of the Customer Survey:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Recently, we had a business requirement to enable multi-language in\u00a0\u2018Customer Satisfaction Survey\u2019<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0of VOC. The survey had translations available in two languages, English<\/em> (United States)<\/em> and French<\/em> as seen in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n

We wanted to change English language drop-down text from \u2018English (United States)\u2019<\/em> to \u2018English\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

When we create the survey, the \u2018Default language<\/strong>\u2019<\/em> field of survey entity is set according to the user\u2019s language. This \u2018Default language<\/strong>\u2019<\/em> field of survey entity is not added to survey form by default.<\/p>\n

\"Change<\/p>\n

In our case, the user\u2019s language is set to English, so when we created the \u2018Customer Satisfaction Survey\u2019<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0of VOC, the Default Language<\/em> field is set to English.<\/p>\n

As a result, the survey has default language set as \u201cen-us\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This results in the English language labeled as \u2018English (United States)\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

To avoid this, we can set Default Language<\/em> field as blank and then change the \u2018en-us\u2019<\/em> in the translation.xml<\/em><\/strong> file to \u2018en\u2019<\/em> (i.e. \u201cen\u201d is iso_639-1 code for the English language).<\/p>\n

After making these changes and publishing the survey, the English language drop-down text changed from ‘English (United States)’<\/em> to ‘English’<\/em>.<\/p>\n
