The survey had translations available in two languages, <em>English<\/em><em> (United States)<\/em> and <em>French<\/em> as seen in the screenshot below;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/13.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"791\" height=\"312\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We wanted to change English language drop-down text from <em>\u2018English (United States)\u2019<\/em> to <em>\u2018English\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When we create the survey, the <em>\u2018<strong>Default language<\/strong>\u2019<\/em> field of survey entity is set according to the user\u2019s language. This <em>\u2018<strong>Default language<\/strong>\u2019<\/em> field of survey entity is not added to survey form by default.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10668\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/23.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"745\" height=\"426\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In our case, the user\u2019s language is set to English, so when we created the <em><strong>\u2018Customer Satisfaction Survey\u2019<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0of VOC, the <em>Default Language<\/em> field is set to English.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a result, the survey has default language set as <strong><em>\u201cen-us\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10669\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/33.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"807\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This results in the English language labeled as <em>\u2018English (United States)\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10670\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/42.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"283\" height=\"73\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To avoid this, we can set <em>Default Language<\/em> field as blank and then change the \u2018<em>en-us\u2019<\/em> in the <strong><em>translation.xml<\/em><\/strong> file to <em>\u2018en\u2019<\/em> (i.e. \u201cen\u201d is iso_639-1 code for the English language).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10671\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/51.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"761\" height=\"334\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10672\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/6.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"784\" height=\"303\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10673\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/7.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"787\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After making these changes and publishing the survey, the English language drop-down text changed from <em>&#8216;English (United States)&#8217;<\/em> to <em>&#8216;English&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10674\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/8.png\" alt=\"Change default language drop-down name using translations in VOC Survey\" width=\"803\" height=\"326\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hope this helps!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.inogic.com\/product\/productivity-pack\/click-2-export-microsoft-dynamics-crm-reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6683 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inogic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Easily-Export-Dynamics-365-Reports-in-PDF-Word-or-Excel.png\" alt=\"Easily Export and Email Dynamics 365 Reports in PDF, Word, or Excel\" width=\"800\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction: Since the introduction of Voice of the Customer surveys in Dynamics CRM 2016, it has enabled organizations to offer feedback surveys to customers and gain insights about their products and services directly from customers.
