How to Fix Buttons Missing on Dynamics 365 CRM Unified Interface

By | May 24, 2019

Introduction:

In Microsoft’s recent Dynamics 365 CRM April release everything has been categorized into Hubs, like Sales Hub, Field Service Hub, Service Hub, and so on.

However, while working in UCI you may find a few missing buttons in the Command bar when compared to the Classic UI. Buttons like Advance Find, Edit, and Merge aren’t in their original places. Although the buttons are hidden, the functionality they offer persists.

There is a simple setting that needs to be done to make these frequently used buttons visible in UCI.

Let us have a look at how it is done.

Navigate to Settings–>Administration–>General

  • Set the Setting Enable embedding of certain legacy dialogs in Unified Interface browser client as Yes.

  • Once the setting is set to Yes; the buttons Edit, Merge, Advance Find becomes visible.

Note: To do the above Setting you need to have System Administrator Role.

Conclusion:

As disclosed above, the missing buttons on Dynamics 365 CRM unified interface can be made visible through a simple setting.

    Hi there,

Merge button on Leads still remains missing although merge button is available on Contacts and Account.

Do you have any idea how to fix this issue?

    Regards,
    Jason

The ribbon buttons like Edit , Merge etc. are available on Lead entity as well. Please make sure you follow all the steps given in the blog.

But still if the problem persists, then use Ribbon Workbench to see the Enable and Display rule of the button and troubleshoot the issue.

      Hope this Helps.

      Thanks!

    Hi Inogic,

I’m using Dynamics 365 on-premises Version 1612 (9.0.15.9) and I cannot find the “Enable embedding of certain legacy dialogs in Unified Interface browser client” option in System Settings.

In Ribbon WorkBench, I checked buttons like Merge, Share, Edit, etc. and they are well displayed for the Unified Interface.

Have you got any other solutions to display these buttons?

    Thanks !

To resolve the issue add ribbon of “Lead” entity in solution and open the same in “Ribbon Work Bench” and publish it.

      Hope this helps.

      Thanks!

        Hi,

What do you mean by :”To resolve the issue add ribbon of “Lead” entity in solution and open…” ??
You mean to add Lead Entity to the Ribbon Solution I am using for ribbon customization?

        Thanks

        1. Inogic

          Hi Octavian,

As this option is not available for on-premise environment you would need to manually troubleshoot the ribbon issue. So yes, we were saying to add entity to the solution that you are using for customization and open that solution into Ribbon Workbench tool and troubleshoot further.

          Hope that clears your query,
          Thanks
